another comment: as L&S had chosen
to not use the classical 3 letters for the Day, they could have a separation between the 2 Day letters and then be more symetrical with the date.
Chopard used a special steel metal (scratchless) :
"new steel alloy called Lucent Steel A223. It has the qualities of being more scratch resistant than regular steel, as well as much shinier, giving it a highly reflective quality that easily catches the light across its contrasting brushed and polished surfaces"
why L&S did not try to do the same?
L&S offers the Honey Gold metal also more resistant to scatches than current gold metal.
