Dial Variance in Pt Reference
To add a variable to your pursuit, I would advise you seek multiple examples in the metal prior to purchasing. There are two distinct eras of dial for the Pt model - one with a matte finish, and one with a decidedly more 'shiny' dial. My preference falls to the muted matte dial, and that is the one I sought out when purchasing, however I know of other longtime collectors who prefer the shiny dial. Both are very attractive, but necessary to see both and choose from there. I also saw value in the ability to advance all calendar indications with the pusher at 10 o'clock, and enjoy the easy of use.
The Langematik perpetual is such a wonderful watch. The dial is happily busy, and the applied roman numerals add a very nice elegance to the perfectly proportioned 38.5mm case. The sax-o-mat movement is so well done, and the 3/4 rotor with relief engraving is a sight to behold. I have a clear bias, sorry!
I would search for a post from our forum member CR who first discovered the dial variance, and was able to take photos of his next to another at an AD.
Edit - I wish you the best in your search, and happy to hear you are considering a Lange after owning many Pateks. Both are exceptionally well made, and I hope you enjoy the solid heft of a Lange on your wrist soon.
