Thanks for sharing, I agree with you in that increasing the power reserves within most of the calibers is not really that big of a deal to me either as I don't mind setting or winding my Lange's at all. What i do find troubling is that Lange's full rotor in the new Saxoina line is gold plated rather than all gold which was previously done in all of their other automatic movements. To me this sends the message of cutting corners and is not what I expect from the best brand on the planet (IMHO!) I know they want to reach more customers price wise but I'd rather see Lange make a high end limited production stainless steel sports watch then cut corners on a movement design.

I'm sure gold is too soft for a rotor of those dimensions. Nevertheless, I strongly disapprove of gold plating and would prefer to see the underlying metal, whatever it is.

Than a central rotor offering a power reserve of 72 hours. For me, the 3 quarter rotor is Lanfe DNA, not the central rotor, which is not specially appealing, by the way. After all, when you wear an automatic watch, you don't have to wind it, so the proble...

In fact, behind its evolution, as you understand it, there is a will by Lange to enlarge its customers base. Collectors don't really care about this power reserve story, they are focussed in the complications, the beauty of craftsmanship, the finishings.....
