Interesting presentation of data
The question that comes to mind for me is how much does power reserve factor in when deciding to purchase a watch. Although Lange has been criticized for not having a long PR in some models, is this enough to keep someone from buying a Lange? Although a negative, obviously the style, movement finish, quality, craftsmanship, etc. far outweigh the lack of a long PR. Even if it is not their primary intent, increasing the average PR is a nice feature for the collection. I look forward to having a Lange and evaluating the power reserve up close. Thanks for the information.

I don't think it's a corner cut.
I'm sure gold is too soft for a rotor of those dimensions. Nevertheless, I strongly disapprove of gold plating and would prefer to see the underlying metal, whatever it is.

In fact, behind its evolution, as you understand it, there is a will by Lange to enlarge its customers base. Collectors don't really care about this power reserve story, they are focussed in the complications, the beauty of craftsmanship, the finishings.....
