I don't know if it is unpopular.

 

However, I get the sense that the market doesn't accept their pricing. Tough situation for a young brand. 


The legibility doesn't bother me as once you set the watch, the time and date are readily visible. 

There has been an explosion of affordable perpetual calendar watches in recent years. I could be wrong on this, but I don't believe the market views a perpetual calendar by itself, as a high complication worthy of the manufacturers' inflated pricing any more. The Patek 5140 variants can similarly be had for a song (relatively to the retail price) in the secondary market. As competition increases, you've got to up your game to command premium pricing, not just change dial colors and layouts.
