I would like to come back to the PG 1815 chronograph first edition (reference 401.031). Several years ago, I had the ability to choose between the two versions available of the 1815 chronograph: - WG with silver dial and blued hands - PG with black dial a...
From your photos the hands look to be uniform rose gold? On my watch the hands have slightly discoloured and gone a little white towards the pinion. I think it's just normal rose gold behaviour.
Dato for its non lumi hands, dial color and thinner case, it is actually more desirable, regrettably, the "3" and "9" numberals cut offs are a turn off, like many other fine Lange and Patek watches which suffer the same fate, it's such a pity. Nevertheles...
I own the platinum dato, but I constantly melt each time I see thus one up for sale. I own 6 Lange, but no RG. This is the one to get from my perspective. Thx Fx for beautiful scans. Best, Joe
.... coupled with the pink gold case and sub-dials, gives the 1815 Chrono an incredible character. I also agree wholeheartedly with you that the hands, devoid of lume, gives the watch class and elegance. A winner from ALS, a pity that it's been discontinu...
It is a quite unique watch as this black dial/RG is not commun and feels like "old times". But I guess I would also choose the WG version as it would last longer, for my taste. However, for someone who is sensible to this combo it must be an unforgettable...
This rose gold black dial combo is a killer! I am a big fan of rose gold and dark dials, I agree that it stands out from the dato sibling for elegance thanks to the solid hands. A great watch, one to keep an eye on if ever it will appear in some second ha...
I have a much better appreciation of this RG version now. The white gold Chrono has been and remains my most wished for Lange. In the end, even with all the trade offs you mention between it and the Dato as well as the new 1815 Chronograph, I still place ...
Our forum search doesn t seem to filter by relevance and there are thousands of posts about the 1815 chrono. A couple of questions....Is the new 1815 much bigger than the original Chrono? How big is your (original)Chrono? I am really taken by a PG black d...
It has been a long teasing relation with a Lange chrono, The dato is def the most iconic, but also this 1815 has a lot of charm. This combination is really appealing to me, it has a classic bit strong caracter that I love a lot. Thank you ..... Too many w...
There is only 0,5mm of difference (39 vs 39,5) but this is not the key point. The idea when creating the new chronograph was to make it purer. The different layers of the dial were reduced. The new dial is almost flat. The pulsometric scale was removed. T...
I always thought that, same goes for the regular 1815, somehow these new editions are flatter and duller. I am really tempted, it has always been a flirt with Lange chronos.... I like the new dato BUT I wouldn't choose it over the Dufour... I find it subl...
First of all thank you Foversta for the terrific review. I love the old 1815 chrono, but I must say the new version is much better in the metal and on the wrist than in photos. Perhaps it is a little cold in comparison to the charm of the old model, but i...
