I will once again play the bad boy,, here.
The Datograph was really something... Not exempt of flaws but those flaws made its strengh...
The new Datograph is empty, I find it " soul less ", without charism, and uninspired.
Its dial is a paradox: More " empty " and more busy at the same time.
The power indicator breaks the difficult harmony of the dial.
One thing I would agree is that mechanically speaking, it is better than the ' 99 Dato.
And that the volume of the case may be better, but didn't we ADORE the first ( and only one ) Dato, the one which counted, the icon?
For me, I repapet it once again, there is one and only one Dato: The original.
But this is my personal point, and it doesn't count more than your own opinion on that matter.

Ramblings from a visit to two new boutiques, sorry no pics
Unfortunately no pics, so not sure why I am writing this, but.... maybe I write it down for myself.... I was in the UAE recently, and had the pleasure to see their two new boutiques in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and the wonderful staff they have working there.....

One thing to remember though....
I guess I have been 'unspoilt' by handling and wearing the old Dato, which it seems is a blessing, hahahaha.... for me, and I guess quite a few others, the new Dato is a standalone watch, when I saw it and fell in love, I didn't have the image of the old ...

Old vs. New Dato
For what it's worth, I agree with Nicolas. When the hands are shown at two o'clock, the new Dato looks balanced, but at other times I too find that the top half appears rather "empty". I also prefer the Roman numerals of the original Datograph. And for me...

Dear Imran, I can totally understand your feelings, and definitely you are welcome right here! I dont often find much people in my region who are that passionate over Lange, so it gets lonely here! But, i wish you all the best in your quest for the Dato, ...
