I would fight this to the end Nicolas!
Even if you have lost favour with the watch, it's the right thing to do and a matter of principle. You can do whatever you want with your watch after regaining rightful possession.
You have all of us here to back you up if need be. I am not a lawyer but I think you have a very strong case.

I awoke this morning to an email from CR asking where I posted. It was in the Lange Forum.

I believe your position is strengthened vis a vis Antiquorum: they are presented with an expensive, MODERN watch, with no box or papers; and they did nothing to verify ownership.
