I would second that
Certainly for a blue or black dial, where full metal hands are going to disappear into the dial due to the reflections, that filament of lume greatly helps readability.
On a white / silver dial, it's more debatable.

This was one where I begged my Wempe contact, but alas it was never going to happen.
I’ve always loved this reference and the Red Gold version of this Wempe edition was in my opinion a really beautiful execution. I was ready to sell other pieces if I could have gotten this.
