Issues with Zeitwerk
Always interested in the Zeitwerk. To me it is a must have model in every Lange collection (apart from Lange 1 and Dato). I do noticed some issues regarding some early models has “sudden” jerk move of the minute plate and the watch stop for no reason...etc. Want to hear owners opinion and share your experiences on these issues before I acquire it. FYI I plan to get a second hand so what kind of things I should be aware. Thanks in advance much appreciated.

The minute discs are unlock at 56th second
from what I recalled. This unlocking results in slight movement of the minute discs before the jump at exactly 00 seconds. Is this what you mean? If yes that is normal. I have not heard of any issues of the watch stopping suddenly.
But it is an issue that is not important at all, it never bothered me.
It is hardly noticable.
That was an issue for some of the early production pieces...

Even newer models have that solved now.
Once you send your watch in for service it will come back with the instantaneous jumping minutes- its a small adjustment that they are doing to any Zeitwerk that goes in for service in addition to new models.
The updated movement came in 2017. It is pretty easy to spot the differences on the caseback

Hi guys I am kinda looking for a Zeitwerk (or striking time). And I only became aware about the movement update yesterday.
So from the sound of it, any model after 2017 should equip with the updated movement. But in case I am looking for a preowned one. How can you tell the difference from the caseback? Or worst scenario, ALS will update it once I send it in for service?
