Lange 1 in yellow gold is stunning and very traditional. Wear it in good health.
Personally, in a dress watch, I prefer rose gold with a black/dark dial, and either yellow gold or white metal with a white dial. Key word there is "personally." Don't listen to other people, go with the combo you like the best (which is what you did.)
