I've been monitoring it over the past few days, and in some cases the second hand lands exactly on 12, sometimes it is just a few seconds off and sometimes it is quite a bit off (~ 10 s).
In any case, it doesn't really offer any functional advantage as far as I can see (unlike RL model).

But I’m really not sure what the value of it is. It doesn’t seem to help with setting the time more accurately, unlike the zero reset feature.
I believe it was first introduced on the 1994 Tourbillon Pour le Merite
Rather than hack the Tourbillon the stop works stopped the seconds at zero, any wind of the chain onto the Fusee restarts the Tourbillon instantly and thereby allows accurate setting of the seconds. 👍

I assumed this was due to the power needed for the jumping minute immediately before then.

My 1815 Up/Down seconds will always stop on "12" when the power reserve runs out. When it comes to the Zeitwerk, it is my understanding that the movement DOES stop when power runs down to a level where jumping the minutes or hours would risk damage, howev...
