That is a very tough choice.....
I think the date comes down to personal preference. I prefer a date but some think the dial is cleaner looking on the Langematik without the date. I do prefer the look of platinum to yellow gold so I would probably go with the non date version in this case. If you where considering the rose or white gold models with the date then I'd go in that direction. I think they are all about equal is rarity although Lange doesn't make platinum models in their new Saxonia line so I would say it makes the previous Langematik models in platinum a little more special. Good luck with your decison, I think you'll love either choice.

Langematik PT w/o date v Langematik YG big date?
Both are on my wish list, but can only afford one at this time. I'm just wondering which model is more desirable or hard to find, since my AD tells me that they are both discontinued. The pt w/o date seems quite discreet while the yg is certainly elegant....

Don't go for the rarer one, go for the one that makes your heart beat faster and that best compliments your collection.

My choice is clear in that case.
I would go to the Pt Langematik without date. Because...well... I love the Pt Langematik without date. You know, Lange is a very homogeneous brand. You will have the same quality in both versions. So it is just a question of taste. Fr.Xavier

then try them on again.. and again.... your heart will tell you..... I would not pay much attention on which is rarer..... (besides opinions vary...and both are available...) good luck cheers
