Let‘s have a bit of an exchange of views: I think the ROO is only for real if you can see that is has been worn and neglected - a bright and shiny offshore, kind of misses the point. Am I alone with this pov? Have a great weekend, C. ...  

“neglected” sounds negative, “hard use” is how I describe the life of my tool watches I wear my bruises and scratches with pride and your lovely ROO looks right with them too.

but my husband don’t really agree. in your case, i think your ROO need more dings n deep scratches! ...  

I have along way to go. I find the genta edges to be scratch magnets, so evetually I’ll get there. C.

Didn t really care with scratches it was accepted as the mandatory part of ownership ,i really feel that this “keep the watches intact “came with the new generation of collectors who try to keep their items brand new looking (phones ,cars ,body u name it ... 

I wish I could let go and not be bothered about dings and scratches but sadly it is in my genes; I like the watch to remain pristine so you can imaging the hassle I have to go through to keep a watch preserved.

I think you need to cross the middle part - new is cool, beaten up is cool, but 1 or 2 scratches really is painful....

...but to use and be worn is what they were created for. And of course, life's too short to worry about scratches- unless your wife see's some on your back and she didn't put them there! ; )

I sold a good friend my Diver in perfect condition, as new. He then wore it 24/7, even in bed. I recently tried it on and it looked like it had done a tour in Afghanistan-not a good look at all.

... but the dilemma comes up when a spa treatment at the manufacturer is due. My ROO did not enjoy coming on MTB tours in the mountains with me and needs a full service/repair job. I postponed this (and switched to a Casio for the rough), still pondering ...
