I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS WATCH.
Dear friends,
Thank you for this thread and for the lovely pics.
I fell in love last week when i happened to see it in the window of an AD (the first one they'd ever had, placed only a few hours before).
When i tried it on, i immediately knew that it was for me.
I had no intention AT ALL of buying a watch, but i just couldn't let that watch go with someone else.
I have paid a deposit and i am going to take it with me next Wednesday!
I have purchased many high-end watches over the last 10 years in which i have been collecting. I don't remember such an excitement, ever.
The piece is just PERFECT. It is an authentic hymn to the beauty of Steel. So elegant, so restrained, so classy, so interesting, so beautiful, so unique. So modern after 42 years.
What killed it in the previous version, IMO, was the white date window. Now that is solved, and so eleganlty.,,
I am in LOVE. This is pure LOVE. It really is. I can feel that exact emotion in my heart. And i know that it will last forever.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Extra-Thin
The Royal Oak Extra-Thin, introduced 2 years ago at SIHH, has been in my collection for almost 5 months now. I am working on a full review of this watch for the forum. In the meantime, please enjoy a few new snaps of this spectacular timepiece by Audemars...
I consider it the Perfect AP.
The only minor deduction is the date set 10-2 method but the watch would not be the same if that was updated (no pun intended). The blue dial keeps speaking to me, maybe I am just AP crazed. Best, JerryW

I have not considered that. However...
Someday, with a more complicated AP, I would do that. I might even get my son's initials instead, so when I hand it down, it will really be ready for him (and I would take pride to wear it like that first).

on a bigger wrist. I have put on the Aquanaut 40m and found it too small for me.
The watch has so much presence, but not from its dimensions.
Solely from a size standpoint, you might find it too small. But I think you should really try one on. Its thin case makes the listed 39mm seem larger than it is.
