My experiences with the AP RO Perpetual
Hi BCL,
I had an older RO Perpetual Calendar in yellow gold. It was my first watch in all YG. It had a nice heft to it without being too chunky. I ended up parting with it to upgrade for a S/S RO perpetual in dark blue/grey (newer version with leap year indicator) just like you!
It was on my daily rotation for several years and was extremely accurate and reliable. This included quite a few trips to the shooting range and the only reason why I didn't wear it more often at the range was not because I was afraid of the shock, but I just didn't want the brass casings dinging up the YG. It stood up well and I never had a problem.
The last time my RO PC was tested was at the Perpetually Purists GTG in 2008. This was a special date because of the leap year. And sure enough, my trusty RO PC performed well. Here's a pic on the wrist at noon. You can see the indicators for Friday Feb 29:

Then at midnight (well, actually we moved it forward a few hours) and it was right on target for the changeover:

Now this is a serious watchwinder for the perpetual
