Martin Wehrli, the curator of the Audemars Piguet Museum, uses this particular piece and judging by the state of the case of his watch I now have no doubt that it is a solid piece that should withstand frequent use.

The AP perpetual is easy to wear.
The size is great IMO. Seems to be pretty durable and very accurate. JerryW
