Thank you for your feedback Thomas!
As always, your invaluable input is most appreciated. As I've been reading the forum regarding the Survivor's design and direction, seems like AP may not embark on such a bold design for its newer models. With this in mind, wouldn't that make the Survivor truly unique? So now I'd like to throw another pressing question to EX Survivor owners...why did you sell it and if you have any regrets? If it's not too much trouble, may we start with you, Thomas?
Survivor PVD

Hi guys, I'd like to check with existing Survivor owners on the durability of the Survivor PVD. I've seen a common wearing off of the PVD on the case edges and wonder if that can be recoated by AP? All your invaluable feedback is very much appreciated!

Someone more knowledgeable than I will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Survivor is blackened with DLC, not PVD. The surface texture is certainly different than that of the EOD or NYLAB, and that is what gives me this impression. I wear all thre...

What no photos??? ;-) So, I think the bezel of the Survivor is ceramic and the rest of the case is DLC'd titanium. No? I am, sadly, not a Survivor owner (yet!). But my understanding is that AP's earlier PVD efforts (e.g., the EoD) were not as good as the ...

Respo, No complete family shot, just these: An old photo of the EOD before re-PVD with NYLAB, and a newer photo of the Survivor, all by itself. Ironically, the photos recapitulate the family dynamics of the road warior. For you, Respo, I promise to create...

I must say that if all the black watches from AP offers free recoating, then that's a very attractive offer! But i'm sure it's watch specific and i've not heard of this special offer for Survivor. Is this explicitly written somewhere in the warranty? Hope...
Really, Park?

I didn't know that AP makes the recoating on the EOD for free! I asked Panerai to make it on one of my Pre Vendome watches, some 4 or 5 years ago, they told me that they were ok to paint it in black, but that to " re do " the PVD was impossible... It was ...
DLC vs PVD

I think people are confusing the two terms. Find below what my understanding of it is, following exchanges with both AP and Panerai on the matter. I trust we have more experts on the matter in this forum, so please add to and correct the below as you see ...

an EX owner? I did find the watch a little uncomfortable to wear due to the width, due to the chrono pusher protectors. I also found the pusher guards a little silly and counter-functional, after the novelty wore off. But neither were really deal killers ...

Hi, No worries, understandable conclusion. I had the opportunity to acquire a second Survivor, one with a very special number; seemed a little silly (and selfish) to keep two... The GP carbon gets more wrist time, as it is more comfortable for my wrist. O...
