I have always clarified on this forum that forged carbon had not been discontinued, despite numerous erroneous reports over the last 20 months +/-. AP simply emphasized in 2013 that they would be focusing more on other materials. They never discontinued forged carbon, and it remains available on current collection references.
I find it intriguing.
