Audemars Piguet

Love this piece, how it catches light in a million different ways, how light it sits on the wrist. Have had it over a year, and it's one of my favourite pieces. And I usually have it on a winder. But in this year, I've had to sent it to the service center...  

1/ The movement is ont known to have this kind of issue. 2/ I insisted many times on that, but a winder is absolutely not necessary. When you don't wear your Watch, just give it some rest. Best, Nicolas

I agree that a winder isn't absolutely necessary. I just keep my watch on one so I don't have to adjust the date when I wear it once a week. Considering blue dialed 15202 aren't the most common, I must be very unlucky I picked the one with the faulty move...

You don't wear it. Would you let your engine on even if your car is in your garage? Same for a Watch, IMO. I have some watches I wear once or twice per month and which don't need a service each 4 to 5 years. My Patek WT is 10 years old, now and still work... 

because it's a pain to set. Besides that: t here is this Dutch saying: ' Rust roest '. Translated: Rest rust (my French is terrible so I couldn't translate that). Meaning something like; things/persons that are not active (enough) will come to a standstil...

from being on a winder. I would not even set the date if I wore it one day a week. What makes the most sense to me is to rotate out of watches 2 weeks or a month or whatever and not worry at all about them during off wrist time. I keep my perpetual calend... 

I bought mine in January. I was working like a dream for about 20 days. In the end it did not work at all. When I tried to put the watch on time and give power with the crown, the whole crown dropped off. To say it very mildly, I AM BLOODY DISAPPOINTED! I... 

Definitely would have felt the same if the crown had dropped off. Even now, I'm a little miffed...

also when not on a winder. And the issues were there straight out of the factory seal.... So now, 3 months later, I just got the call that the watch is back. Wil keep you posted on its state of operating. It was a disappointing start however and I did not...

terrifying. There are some reports on another watch forum about the date wheel not moving properly on the 15202. Without enterring into discussions about the historical value, tradition etc of the 2121, would a current buyer be better off with a modern 31... 

lack of performance, especially after reading numerous other service issues on this watch (2121) which is not inexpensive. Emotionally blind collectors will defend their brand without logical clear thought, but my best guess is AP will resolve your issues... 

I didn't have any problem with my 15202 for 8 years until last Dec. it ran slower than it should. I found out it had a stop & go issue. The hair spring & balance wheel were turning while the hands were not moving. I never put it on a winder for th... 

8 years! :) My carbon diver sits on the same winder with no issues.

For such a nice watch, AP should know this and do a re-call service free of charge. And most importantly they should build a value for money calibra, otherwise, AP spoiled our love on this great designed watch.

I tend to agree with Nicolas though, and generally do not keep my pieces on a winder. The 15202 I do, as the date corrector is rather old school and can take a while to adjust if you are off by more than a few days. Not sure what kind of winder you use. M... 

I keep my 15202 on the winder, since it takes some time to adjust the date. I use a Beuben & Zorweg winder which keeps the watch vertical. My carbon diver sits on the same winder with the same settings with no issues. Maybe I just got unlucky...

& the unfortunate experience. My intention isn't to give an opinion contrary to the 'gurus' on 15202 - it is a fabulous looking watch & the movement looks, serene - beautiful. However, I had read about some issues, perhaps isolated, on 15202; this... 

I always thought the 2121 calibre was a tried and tested reliable movement but obviously from the responses here it may not be. I haven't noticed a problem with my 15202 but I shall monitor it more closely with extended wear to see if all is good. Don't u... 

while I don't yet have this watch, I have thought about it for a year. The 2121 movement is similar to the VC 1120. Only AP has added th date module. I had postd a while back about the date setting. Since this watch does not hack, I really thought moving ... 

I have acquired mine 18 months ago and went back for service 4 times: 1 - a screw in one link become completely loose 2 - after being fixed, it came out, again 3 - after 6 months, it started to stop in the winder and then it loose time on the wrist until ...

I have a Royal Oak chronograph and had a similar incident myself, wore the watch for about three months and one day it simply stopped working. AP replaced the movement and I've had no recurrence of this problem. But it seems to me that I've heard this sam...

well, that is what AP service centre told me and it is also indicated in the service record when i paid 2k for the overhaul. anyway, i sold the watch the moment i got it back and the service slip have to go together with the panda watch.
