An old 3.2 Carrera is a lot on the street.

I have 2 911s. This one is what I refer to as a street car that’s fun on track.

By that I mean it’s got street tires and 3 point belts. On a curvy mountain road 2nd 3rd and 4th gears are fun to row through. It makes fun noises and moves around enough to need some counter-steer occasionally.

I also have a 996 GT3.

This one I call a track car that’s fun on the street. It has 6 point harness, a roll hoop and solid back seats. It’s honestly too much for the street. If you drive it anywhere near 10/10ths, you are flying and really taking risks that make no sense in public.

So I’d say, the old adage of it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast applies to a street car. Many family cars are faster than the old G body 911, but an old driver quality air cooled 911 is engaging to drive hard and will get you as fast as you need on the street.
