The more I drive it, the more I start to like it.
I always had diesels since 1996 when I bought a 90hp/200Nm 1.9 Tdi. Back then it was quite a fast and very smooth car, I do suspect it had more than 90 hp
.
I've always liked the torquey character of the power low down, pulling away in third gear from 1500 rpm and changing gears at 2500, but the main reason off course is the phenomenal economy especially when you really try
. LOL, the Bim and economy .. YES!!! I do that often, trying to do a 100+ km 'stint' and trying to get under that magical 3l/100 km.
Actually a BMW 540 diesel is cheaper on fuel than a big EV when you only use the fast loading network, and you fill up the tank in less than 10 minutes every 1000 km or so .... at any given time in space as you feel like ;-).
