The man's a legend and while he may be most closely associated with the development of the Carrera GT or his Audi time in WRC, these all took place after his great successes. Those he achieved with Opel (European Champion 1974), Fiat (World Champion 1980)...
I guess he must have been popular in Italy, too :)

Among the many races he played, we were fortunate to have him in the Rally of Piancavallo (years ago a major milestone in the world of rally racing)
