I admit it; I've been a trekkie for decades. I even built a Klingon War Bird and Enterprise NCC 1701A scale models and hung them from the ceiling of my bedroom, as though they were floating in intergalactic space, dreaming about space exploration and Mexican (Klingon?) standoffs.
Later on, when I understood g forces and the sensation of being forced back into your seat, I'd wonder what quantum slipstream drive would feel like...
or even just plain old, 'ole skool warp drive...
Well, today, I've come as close to experiencing it as I ever have, even considering my track time in this -
or road time on a 1237cc V4 putting out 170hp moving 590lbs wet...
Aluminum big block V8...500+ rwhp powering a just over 2000lb road legal car...
Quarter mile tapes in the mid-10's with a trap speed of 136mph...with single digit times claimed possible...
0-60 in the mid-2's?!?!?!?
I got to experience 4 WOT pedal (almost) to the metal acceleration runs to 100mph...and back to zero.
The shaking...the blurring...
All I can think is, "H-O-L-Y S-H-!-T!!!" (and that's about how long it took to get to 100mph...)
Stay tuned, more to come (in the coming weeks and months...)
