Since the late 90s and the Rover K-series, all the "standard" engines provided plenty enough power. They can be modified/upgraded easily and are rather reliable. All this for a rather limited weight. Going for motorbike engines is for real racers only and limited to fun track days. And you need to be a good mechanic or know a good garage who can combine both car and motorbike worlds.
