In their defence...
...the late 90's were pretty lean years for Bertone, they certainly weren't getting many 'supercar' contracts, nor have they done too well since Nuccio's death...but the Astra Cabrio was an outsourced engineering project from Opel.
They did all the packaging, underfloor sheetmetal, rear seat design and at-the-time-innovative automatic roof...their penance was to have a Bertone badge clipped to the side

Hi, Bim, The Ferrari Bertone Rainbow took this basic outline to an extreme. Many people also don't realize that Bertone built the X1/9 at Carrozzeria Bertone; they also built the Mini GP! Cheers, TM
