You know this, but i want to share a belt story i had with my Volkswagen Bora.
The car was a good car. Changing a belt was highly expensive.
For european wps friends i tell a price in euro i had to pay for a belt change.
Why it was so expensive-
€850,— each 5 years or when the Volkswagen reach 90.000 km’s. Belt recommendation change for the AGR code TDI is 90.000 km.
Why a high price? Part is mostly from Continental.
A waterpump change included, because when building out, it is easy to replace the waterpump. Other driving train parts, catrols.
A set cost around (guess in my head) €238 incl country tax).
The guy who do the job in hours, again a tax sum is on this.
So, there is the invoice.
The reason i drive a chain equipped car, is not the high price i paid for the Volkswagen.
My current car is strong, so it would not match with a tiny belt.
For Volvo i wil recommend to go using chains.
Not good for the service centers, but good for the owners of Volvo’s.
I know a lot of Volvo, i am an employer.
My fave is a S80 and Polestar.
