Thanks for the observation. 
I chuckled.
That was not my thought when I saw the news.
I thought it was an excellent way to make a point.
The rocket had to be tested anyway and not yet certified for commercial payload.
Promoting another product in your portfolio is a superlative way to integrate your core messages.
Plus, it's mass was suitable for payload specifications.
Besides, as the founding owner, Mr Musk can do whatever he wants to get that drag race record
