Only one thing - the S-Type shared a platform with the Lincoln LS and the Ford Thunderbird (the J Mays reissue). Mondeo was I believe the basis for the X Type (smaller and FWD / AWD). And the Mondeo V6, doubled was the basis for the first modern Aston Martin V12, while the original platform came from the Jaguar XJS, just like the first XK8 / XKR 😊 Recycling old bits and bobs 😉🤷🏻♂️

The Ranger pickup was essentially a re-bodied Mazda.... I had a 2013 Ranger XLT which, if I'm not mistaken, is the third generation Ranger, and is likewise based on that initial Mazda frame.... Chicken tax etc. 😄
