-Quattroporte II was conceived under Citroen but axed when De Tomaso came in´which asked for the quattroporte III with more power (with the legendary V8)
underpower for so much weight.
13 built "pre Serie" built, didn't reach production. Very intesresting car, the most Citroen of all Maseratis, super rare, bland exterior of Bertone but very nice interior imho
-For the Opera, can't remember how much built, info is to be found on Internet, something like 7 but not a one-off as far as I recall. V6 Maserati for all fo them,
I love the style of this "sedan", very Special, but not everyones tasate for sure.
-the thirs point is highly debatable
As far as I understood, the V6 for the SM, Merak and Quattroporte II is not a derivative from the old V8 . It is written many times that it came from the Indy V8.
The distribution is in the center of the V8, it's actually quite different from the old V8, yes it Comes from a V8 because of the 90°, but as far as I understood it comes from a
prototype V8 that never see the light. If someone has the book of Marc Sonnery, it should be written here.
cheers
