I spent an hour or two at the local Aston Martin dealer checking out their inventory and driving the new Vantage. It is a beast of a car. This copper-tan leather / Hyper Red combination is called "Molten" (perhaps a reference to lava?). It's one of the in...  

AMG powerplant make AM more excitingly powerful. The challenge is in keeping AM signature refined rawness on top of AMG growl.

I don't recall either of us touching it - but it was a congested picture with just an orange triangle where the car was located - so maybe zoomed out too much. My hands & eyes were full with lots of other things, such as where is that suspension calib...  

Build quality and long term reliability is what I would question. Moreover, even if you could negotiate a decent discount, re-sale value would sink faster than a lead weight. Too funny that the local cops took an interest. Regards, Rocky

The cars we drove wasn’t for sale so had no sticker. This dealership had 5-6 cars coming with the increasingly-common “Intro-only” option packages on them. My friend got the details while I took my test drive.

I certainly enjoyed reading it despite lacking the usual down-to-the detail descriptions of driving dynamics. You got straight down to the gist of it . No beating around the bush, just like the Vantage itself . Out of personal interest, how did you like H... 

There you go - a bit more blow-by-blow of how it went. This car is certainly about driving but in addition it is about NOISE and the fact that the engine does all sorts of race-car-stuff without you having to do it yourself, such as the downshifting, blip...  

I test drove the regular R variant and even it is more than enough for city streets. I was, and still am, under the impression that AM in both Newport and S.D. were under Pendragon ownership, the British company that owns the Hornburg chain as their US/Ca... 

Taking a cloverleaf onramp onto the freeway, I never wanted to hit the gas because it always felt like the car was on the precipace of going into oversteer mode. I'll say, the F-Type looks good, but the plastic-ky interior and the driving dynamics of the ...

but I have to say that these additional requirements for US completely ruin he car for me. Just look at picture 2, just looks wrong. Overall nut sure about the design, didn't see it in real life yet. Best regards, Dirk

I didnt see it in person yet . I love the DB11 so i need to look at them both to make a good judgement . I would love to own a AM one day . Almost bought a DB7 many years ago but couldnt fit in right , bought the jaguar XK8 instead .

Too bad they didn't... Aston Martin makes soulful cars. I haven't driven the new Vantage yet, but I hope it handles better than the old one. The old one looked great, sounded great; and with the best brakes, double wishbone suspension on all four corners,...
