The new Porsche 911 was unveiled at a dealership local to Northern California... Bigger, faster, (better?), than ever... Then, a trip to the mechanic shop where Porsche had another vehicle rigged on a lift with all the bumpers in the back removed. Hope yo...

All I see is a blurry $2696. Rats, that's the annual fuel cost. But hey, at least the number of numerals in the price isn't as many as the number of numerals in the VIN.

that price can't even get us a 3 series here.... sigh...

A BMW 318i in Singapore will cost as much or more than a Porsche 911 in the States. That is unfair indeed!

This one is a lot bigger than the previous 911s. Some would even say this car is becoming more of a GT car than the sports car it used to be. But no matter what they say; the statistics say that it is faster, more comfortable, and more capable than ever. ... 

And the sound of the motor is certainyl not the same, but this is no new... But the charm is still here, and long travels will certainly be more comfortable. Hmmm, that is the classiest way I know to go and pick some Pierre Hermé's macarons! Best, my frie...

Bu maybe not for the Aston, as for paddle shifters not ONLY must there be a set, they MUST be fixed to the steering wheel, NOT the steering column. Just my criterion. I'v got your emails btw, thanks! Stephen

in fact my lap times have increased, not decreased. Maybe it's just the way Lotus implemented them? I even paid extra for pure carbon fibre!...

Unless you're driving it on a race track... I too bet it's a joy to drive, a pleasure for those fortunate to own one and be able to stretch its legs.

it has such clean lines and then there's this steel ball sticking up which is totally out of context with the rest of the front end. why couldnt they have pop up washers that sit flush with the bodywork. apart from that it looks like a 911. G

Perfectly understandable! I have headlamp washers in my non-Porsche vehicle and I've yet to use them even once yet. Porsche can omit them for the California market- at least for me. Hopefully those headlamp washers are an optional extra.

if Mercedes can have flush fitting motorised headlamp washers 15 or more years ago in their base models then i should think Porsche should be able to do it in their top model.

Thanks for the post Patrick, i haven't been a huge 911 fan the last 20 years (but that's been changing lately due to the 997), but it's probably the car that would fit my needs ... , fast, forgiving, economical (for a true sportscar), comfy, nice-looking,... 

I don't know about forgiving, but the 911 is certainly a fantastic car in many respects as long as you're shy to hit the brakes prior to turning. Hope you find a 911 someday that meets your needs and your wants...

Regarding yellow stitching... I once saw an Aston Martin where I fell in love with the interior. It had an "absinthe" green interior with a dark brown dashboard and yellow stitching. It sounds like a weird combination but it worked beautifully! The most b... 

I had had just spent a load of money on another project, I would definitely be tempted. I liked the picture of the car on the fork lift and whiteout the bumper, gives you a good look at the engine. Best regards, George

..this is one aspect of all 911s that always disappoints....the view of the engine-bay. The legacy of its Beetle origins... This latest one is worse than most....all I can see, after stripping off all the plastic, is a throttle body, an alternator, some h... 

A new car is a nice reward anytime, including in the future...

The pics with the fully exposed view of the engine are only of a car with the bumpers removed. Owners will only see a tiny little bit from the rear bonnet lid, as the rear bonnet lid is very small......  

Makes you wonder why they bother with a 'lid' at all.
