The sales are good and will remain so - for a while...

 

As the riding population ages you get more of them in the ‘fat years’, where they have a much higher disposable income. Which is temporarily good, since they go for all bells and whistles.

The issue is that you can milk that only for those who rode a moped and bikes when they were younger. Even if there was a long break in between. Not had their license by the age of thirty, the chances of catching them are infinitesimally small of them ever doing it. And the pool is dying out, not because of accidents but due to old age. Too low an inflow...

But I hear you, with the exception of Germany and the Isle of Man it’s getting increasingly difficult to really enjoy cars on the road - not sure it’s the same for motorcycles. Fortunately I have still enjoyed some vehicular mayhem in my day - but I believe all of it past the statute of limitations (or whatever the English expression is) by now wink
