Porsche Cayenne or Merc G Class or Lexus SUVs All been great for my family

We looked at the large LX 7 seater but she said the interior felt cheap and plasticky. Porsche we were never drawn to their SUVs but love their 911s. And BMW has a wonderful engine but the body style of the X7 M is Ok but not special. The G Wagon we love ... 

I see them all over town. BMW drivetrain with body on frame construction. The only complaint seems to be the vague steering feel, but that can be corrected with aftermarket parts. ...

Great off road but not so exciting if you plan to keep it on the tarmac most of the time…

terrible experience and they are not fixing it as many issues appear after warranty so they can wash their hands from it. They have massive class action suits ongoing in the US. Shameful quality management for the last 20 years our family car was not my c...

in the UK and in the US many actions ongoing/settled - infotainment system - turbo on the diesel engines (all the people I know have had the same scary engine blowup at c. 75k km) - particulate filters etc.

LRs are status symbols plain and simple. Ralf Schumacher said “the Toyota Land Cruiser is the finest SUV in the world”….I would tend to agree…long after the LR breaks down and leaves you stranded my Toyota Tundra will be going strong… ...  

I love Toyota had a Tundra TRD Pro truck that I drove quite often but my wife was tired of how many cars we had so that one hit the chopping block. Had 24k miles on it 2 years old and I sold it for $3k less than what I paid for it.

For a real "trucky" SUV, Toyota remains the best option. We owned an LR3 years ago. Driving from my parent's on Christmas Eve, the truck died at a traffic light 2 miles from our home. Snowing out, around 11pm. Figured I would walk and grab my other car to...

Plenty of guys on these forums have a problem with a particular brand and then will not buy them again (me and Montblanc is a perfect example). But it can also be a car, truck, or really any other good.

I was talking to the President of Lotus Cars USA and he said “the only Lemon Law buyback we had on the M100 (my car) was a window seal leak that drove a guy crazy!” I solved that problem by keeping the top down! (after 30 years it’s now worn and torn) ...

A little bigger, but it will not leave you on the side of the road! And a 6 year 70k powertrain warranty. Piece of mind.

I'm really not happy to read that you suffered an $11K repair bill on a 5 year old car... That makes me upset! Wished your wife could find another vehicle that met her needs outside of the Land Rover brand - but I do realize there aren't a lot of great al...

I completely understand the fascination with Land Rover’s, I’ve had a few over the years and my fair share of problems with them. I won’t go on about the negatives as we could start a new thread about it ! I went to a private viewing and drive in the new ...

Looks aren’t my core business when comes to cars. Rock solid tech and customer friendly car dealers are my choice. Lexus here get my credits.

The short 90. I love it, no issues yet, but I’m only two months in. The gearing is a little off, the full thrust out of 1st at a stop light is too punchy for a car that size, and also when parking. I live in Berlin where streets are narrow, parking spaces... 

The grief got him to switch to Lexus and 18 years and quite some cars later there has not been a single glitch. Sadly the model range in Europe has been changed to such an extent that there’s nothing sensible left. Admittedly they were such a bit player t... 

The suspension and other quality issues really soured me on Mercs with the exception of the G Class pre W463

And where they are still being built. A bit of an anachronism, the G production line not having modernized in concept for over 40 years - possibly the last batch production in the automotive industry (apart from some tiny niche products) 😁

RR Cullinan - highly recommended (main focus is on comfort, not handling), Mercedes G Class AMG - great built quality, but the ride is pretty hard; Mercedes GLS AMG - very bad experience quality-wise: problems with hybrid battery from 6000 km, some other ...

I am happy to have gotten one of the last pre-restyle deliveries, as I much prefer Series I aesthetically. The interior is a combination of seashell and black.

Thanks for mentioning the Grecale which is often overlooked if you’re into spirited driving but need the practicality of an SUV while looking to keep things simple i.e. ICE only, no huge tires or huge engine. It’s remarkably tossable and the engine makes ... 

ICE only was a huge plus for me after having issues with the mild hybrid battery on the GLS. Also, I think that Grecale Teofeo is a smart and cost-effective way to get the Nettuno engine (other ways to get it: MC20 and GT are way more expensive). And as y...

I have a hard time holding back from taking off at full throttle every time so as to get the wet fart on the 1-2 shift when piloting the Grecale. Got to enjoy these things while we can. BTW The 4 cylinder engine on the GT and Modena also make a similar so...
