I was taken on a ride with a BMW enthusiast/employee in an M roadster. He felt it was the most fantastic car ever made. It was perhaps the scariest ride I ever had and no doubt plenty of power! That was a hard top, not soft top. Very neat car though. I think TimJ had one of those.

Main aspect was the improvement of the gearbox behaviour. Especially in the automatic modus it simply wasn‘t good. The performance part had several options e.g. even more power but only with upgraded clutch etc.
