Concerning? Is this a new watch? Is Blancpain cheaping out and my worst fears are coming true? Finishing was much better on my 500 Fathoms, I wonder what is under the solid caseback of my 50 Fathoms....
The bevels are certainly machine finished as you can see the vertical machining marks along every bevel. The edges are also beveled in a way that there are two distince flat planes which is more evidence of machine finishing.
Now the picture in question could either show a fake, as also the contoured brushing on the plates seems to be not as fine as in the original OR, less probable, it is a not yet finalized version, after machining but before hand finishing. Cheers, Alex
Straight from the machine. But to be fair, this is not unique to Blancpain. And as long as the brand does not insist on some traditional watchmaking, high end finishing... nobody's fooled, so why not !? Oh, and not pre finishing status since it is nickel ...
