Blancpain

Hi, Tcpx

First and foremost, congrats on owning a 50th anniversary Fifty Fathoms. Do please share photos of it once you have it back from servicing.

Now, onto your concerns, I would politely ask the person helping you in Switzerland to specify any different criteria they might have on servicing guidelines and their respective costs, at the same time you express your point which you are validating from information taken from the website. Maybe they have changed their guidelines? Blancpain´s website is not the best in terms of being the most up to date one, so do keep that in mind.

Having said that, I still believe a beneficial solution for you is possible, as my interactions with Blancpain, albeit for other reasons, have always been courteous and strike me as quite an affable company. Then again, I might be mistaken.

I can sort of give them some leeway on the polishing charge, as you are asking for something outside of their standard procedure. A light polish is still a polish, yes, but to their eyes might require more time and attention, thus the charge?

In any case, why not give Swatch Group in New Jersey a call and ask them about their service charges and turnaround times? If you are given an answer you feel comfortable with, ask your watch to be returned to you and then have it shipped to NJ.

If it were me, I would try to resolve the matter with Blancpain in Switzerland in hopes of having my FF back with me in the least time possible.

Good luck in whatever you chose to do.

Best wishes,

Alex
