Only quartz watches require repeated caseback removal
The average mechanical watch (not exposed to a photo-crazy PuristS owner) probably has its back removed only a few times in its lifetime.
The rubber gasket keeps the ceramic case from being exposed to any concentrated forces or load points.

I think all Blancpain ceramic watches have press fit backs w/ rubber gaskets. From an engineering stand point, I wonder whether this is a good idea in the long run(taking a ceramic back on and off repeatedly like this).
