not an answer to your question, but
I've been finding that in certain lighting conditions, moon faces don't reflect well unless it hits the light just right - the flats are ghosts and you see only fragments of the eyes and mouth.
I was quite taken by the newer 7337 in person which has a hammered (I'm guessing) moon - I would have jumped on it if it were a bit smaller

Some of my Blancpains have completely flat moons, polished nicely but invisible unless the light hits just right.
