...amateur or not, it is fine with me.... Is it too much to expect something like that for the automatic Tradition too? I know I am at odds with most of the rest, but I do like the automatic tradition and I like the indication of seconds, retrograde or ot... 

Hi Tassos, Thanks for your kind words. Don’t be dissuaded by the fact that the automatic 7037 does not seem to be favoured by other Purists here – in fact, that might be the best reason of all to choose it. The 7037 is a lovely time piece with its own imp...

Hi Tassos, You will remember this thread from a few weeks ago about possible future directions for the Tradition line. There were lots of exciting possibilities, but my favourite would be a whimsical moonphase with an annual calendar. We get a bit spoilt ... 

I can't quite explain now, too late at night, but I'll try to document tomorrow. QD explanation is what you see is the side driven by winding, below that there is a flat spring to create a differential. Basically winding has more force that runnning, but ...
