The newer ones come with free sprung balance... same case for Blancpain's Caliber 6950...
IMO, these FP1150 based movements are so under-appreciated. They have tremendous hand polished anglage that could put a lot of Pateks' to shame. In my ownership experience the anglage finishing(be it the 517GG or the 6950) is as good as a Lange's.
For those who had visited Breguet's website and got confused by their balance wheel terminology:
1) Breguet=Free Sprung Balance
2) Annular=Smooth Balance
A new addition to the stable.... spot the changes in the 1150 movement..
They are yet to update the Breguet website so I called my local boutique and they were not yet aware that Breguet had made these changes. A nice surprise.... The depth of the engineered white gold dial is absolutely superb Spot the changes... I love the c...

On the Breguet website: 1) Breguet=silicon parts used 2) Annular=non-silicon This is confirmed by the NYC boutique asking Breguet HQ
There are more changes to the movement that you can't see
It is true that the caliber 1150 began with Frederic Piguet in the era when it was commonly owned with Blancpain (and commonly managed as well). Since then Blancpain fully merged Piguet into Blancpain and has made so many major changes to the 1150 that it...

And for those with the old movement who wish to upgrade their balance wheel and hairspring, I have contacted Swatch Group and they said it can be done. Although they were not able to provide me with an estimated cost, I believe it won't be cheap.

I agree completely. There are few other manufacturers that finish the this standard on any design let alone a watch that has been designed to be used as a sports watch.
I'm not going to cover mine in cotton wool - it's going to be used and loved and never polished - it will have my memories & history etched on it
