Hi AT :-)
She's gone to a new home on the insistence of a friend of mine who just had to have it, I let her go for the following reasons which I referred to in my review:
Where I love the design and the watch:
"I have no doubt in my mind that if they do they will be very successful as the watch has all the magical ingredients. I would also recommend making the Endurer in Rosegold, Yellow Gold, Platinum with various dial and strap combinations. Maybe an Endurer in Titanium with Titanium bracelet would be interesting as well. Most importantly they need to come out with a slightly smaller version of the Endurer for ladies or men with smaller wrists. It is too early for limited editions and the All Blacks is nice but the dial is too busy and they need to establish the Endurer before going down the road of L.Es."
I'm waiting for the Endurer to made in 1) Titanium to reduce the weight of the watch and 2) in a smaller version.
These were the 2 nagging reasons I let mine go.
I'm also in the hunt for an Octo Ceramic, I've tried it on at my local boutique but the case size bothers me, wish they were a bit smaller which is the reason I've held back from pulling the trigger but otherwise another fantastic watch from Bulgari.
One last reservation I have is the Bulgari brand name itself, honestly the Brand Perception for me is too "Airport Duty Free" and "Mass Produced Luxury" although I know I shouldn't think that way knowing its Daniel Roth/Gerald Genta in essence but I can't help thinking that way, I've been conditioned by decades of Bulgari Advertising, Perfumes and Toiletries Gift Bags that come with buying their Perfumes.
W hen I wore the Endurer my watch collector buddies liked it but were not as excited about it (they're Label Snobs) as I was because it was a Bulgari, if it said Audemars Piguet or Patek on the dial they'd be all over it, but the fact its a Bulgari they were like whatever, one of them asked me "How much did you pay for it?" and I replied "How much do you think?" and the answer was USD 6k max, Ouch! that did hurt. When I told them a bit more about it and how much it really was they were nodding and thinking about my counter arguments but from their expressions I could tell they were not convinced.
I love the designs and watches they've come out with in the last 2 years but the general Brand Perception is a deal breaker.
