I concur - a future piece that belongs in a museum! The words "onyx cabochon" is mentioned on Bulgari's website and in their press material. I didn't pull that out of my own pocket. Although I agree that I wouldn't have called it a "cabochon" as it's not 3-dimensional enough for my definitions of a cabochon. So I totally agree with you.
I'll have to go back and read more thoroughly the "second watch" part you mention as I can't precisely recall exactly what I wrote. I do feel that so many buyers of the Bulgari Octo Finissimo have it as their "second watch" as many of the owners whom I know are already established collectors - in fact, I don't know of a single person who owns this as their only watch - or even primary watch. As it seems all the Octo Finissimo buyers I've met were fairly large collectors already before they bought their Octo Finissimo. But I truly used it as my primary watch for five years and I really enjoyed it very much.
