I am a SE Asia resident too! Bangkok to be exact. I went to the Cartier boutique at the Emporium Mall in Bangkok today and their retail price for the Calibre in SS is THB223,000 (around US$6,800). That's over 22% more than the Paris price I paid 
There is also a Cortina Watch branch in Bangkok however they do not stock the Calibre collection yet.

I must admit I did an unfair comparison! The list price I paid at the Paris boutique was €4,960 but I got around €600 back in VAT refund so that translates to roughly a 22% saving compared to the Thai price (VAT inclusive).

It is my first Cartier! Very nice watch... I wan undecided between the black and the silver dial but pull the trigger on the silver one... I thought that some of the dial details are not that clear on the black dial...
