Finally someone actually said yes to this stunning Tank
For a few years now every time I asked for anything I was politely told to go away. It started with the platinum Tank Normale, then I asked about the steel Santos Dumont in steel with black lacquer case when it was first released. I was told it was a one shot production and I would not be able to have an allocation. The final straw was for the platinum Tank Americaine wuth salmon dial:
Once again I was told flatly NO. I have to say I gave up on Cartier.
Then last week, I wondered into a different Cartier Boutique (not the “famous” one, where I clearly appeared to be persona non grata ), and saw the steel Santos :
As the sales director was so nice to me, I thought fk it, I’ll try my luck and asked about the new Tank Americaine platinum, limited edition blue European edition. To my surprise 😳, she said , she speak to the manager and do her best to try for me. She was actually really excited at the prospect. Low and behold, she comes back and says could I put on a deposit and confirm my allocation. I couldn’t believe it. Since the she regularly communicates to me by WhatsApp, told me I am her priority customer. Honestly she has left me speechless, especially after all the negative feedback.
Can’t wait to get it.

Sometimes it’s better to be in the right place and right time…
Same for me with the Salmon dial, boutique said no, sold out etc and my friend saw one in another boutique, can be purchased on the spot. Big congrats 🎊

Until the AD/Boutique is prepared to take a deposit (or even full payment upfront) and commit to a sale, no point in engaging.

I really like the TA with the salmon dial, it looks wonderful in every photo I have seen but I am looking forward to seeing real live pics from your limited edition when you get it.
