I went thru the same decision making process back in 2014.
I got the Tank Louis Cartier XL ultra thin in pink gold finally.
It is much purer imho although the Tank MC is a lot more modern with features like date and sapphire case back which is of course popular now.
Yes it is thinner, no date, no sapphire case back, manual wind (an ultra thin, respectable Piaget 430P movement), no power reserve but it is a real classic and a perfect dress watch! I wear it with casual clothes too (smart casual is perfectly fine to match this watch)
To me the Tank LC ultra thin is a Purist watch 
Discreet, not showy and full of class. I enjoy mine alot

I would choose the LC, because i dont like the date window in the MC. For me, the tank musnt have a date. Also, I like the more rectangular shape better and the slimmer profile. André
