The watch is in 42mm and my wrist sizes a bit smaller than yours, around 6.25. The bracelet is superb, so it sits comfortablely on my wrist!
A 44mm is probably too large for me, but it depends on the lug angle also. Just try what you wanna try on wrist... and you would know the answer!

I've been enjoying mine for >2 years now and I'm still fascinated by the beauty of it. One question though, isn't the magnification integrated into the crystal? It certainly looks to me like there is no bubble on the underside of the crystal either. Cheer...
