Chopard is already experienced at chronometry competition with their regular tourbillon watches in the past only losing to multi-axis Greubel & Forsey creations.
They are also the most experienced brand for success at the most torturous test on the planet - Qualité Fleurier - so they understand the difficulties.
Currently, the FB 1 will only submit to C.O.S.C. because:
1) They are a Swiss company promoting Val-de-Travers and the C.O.S.C. as a Swiss Testing organisation.
2) The Besançon Observatory uses the essentially the same equipment for testing as the Swiss.institute.
However, as Berthoud did most of his work in or just outside Paris, La Chronométrie FERDINAND BERTHOUD has kept open the possibility of using the Besançon Observatory in future for certifying their watches.
I forgot to mention that thermal shock testing of the FB 1 from extreme hot to extreme cold and back to hot has revealed very good results less than 30 secs variance.
