Thanks for this very interesting report, Melvyn.

 

I guess we'll have to digest a bit the technical side of this watch, before any comment. 


From an aesthetical point of view, I have mixed feelings. While I like what I am seeing in terms of movement decoration, and about the design of the case which reminds me creations from the 1920's and 1930's, I am more reserved about the dial. 

Plain, it would have been my taste. With this large opening below the time subdial, I don't know. I guess it has been made to show the movement and its originality, but form an aesthetical point of view, I am not seduced. 

On another side, it is good to have a strong watch which will not be consensual. 

Now, we have to digest the technical side for further opinions... 

One question: Will the brand submit it to a Chronometry Contest? 

I would be curious to compare it to its competitors, such as the Lange RL PLM, and the Girard Perregaux Constant Escapement ( even if the technology used by GP is different- a blade instead of the chain ).
