95% of my travel is in the same time zone, so a world timer would be more for romantic rather than practical purposes right now

L.U.C Time Traveler One world timer variants for the years 2016 - 2017
By: MTF : December 9th, 2017-18:33
World Time Cosmopolitans on the move, especially globetrotters, are plagued by the problem of changing time zones and remembering which date it is in your current location when the International Dateline is crossed. Phileas Fogg made much of this in the b...
A nice and perhaps, surprisingly large collection
By: Tim_M : December 9th, 2017-19:23
For me, the steel and platinum standard Time Traveler are the winners. The black and orange highlight combo is striking and inventive, and it reminds me of the old LUC Pro One GMT. Respecting the platinum model, I deeply appreciate that Chopard chose a di...
More to come
By: MTF : December 10th, 2017-03:59
Tim_M, Don'tbe surprised by the variants. Although it is now trendy to produce multivariant editions, Chopard has always been about client choice and customisation, within the confines of good taste. They have the artisans to decorate to clients' wishes. ...
Don't talk about the war.....
By: MTF : December 10th, 2017-04:06
Indeed, despite French being the "diplomatic language", we've had a bit of bother in the past. As Basil Fawlty said: "Don't mention the War!" Although Fleming envisioned timezones of 15 degrees longitude, the wiggly lines that we see on the globe denoting...
If they make a Hong Kong edition....
By: MTF : December 10th, 2017-04:10
...the GMT+8 time zone will have many variants: HKG, BEI, SIN..... But those are the Big-3 for watch collecting in that time zone. Also Macau for sales...... Regards, MTF
Great writeup!

Still liking my regular steel version. The Dubai and Beijing edition dials are splendid. Will be going on a biz trip tom with my TT1 😃. Cheers! SF ...
ah...a PuristS who proves positive
By: MTF : December 10th, 2017-07:25
....by actually owning one and using it. Tell us about the real world usage later. What works or not? Is the date useful for crossing date lines? Power reserve adequate? Bravo! MTF ...

a 30 min timezone so my LUC TT1 did not work😂. For pple who locate in or travel a lot to 30 or 45 min zones, need to look elsewhere. With an automatic movement, the 60 hr PR is more than adequate if you are on the move most of the time. I did not wind for...
The countries that have part-hour time zones are very trying
By: MTF : December 16th, 2017-07:40
Indeed, the countries with part-hour time zones are trying to prove something geopolitically as a protest. Venezuela is a prime example of a dictator gone mad. It's not difficult to just choose one hour either way. Some countries have even selected a sing...
Thanks for this "Catalogue Raisonné"
By: BjoernM21 : December 10th, 2017-01:54
It is really "empowering" collectors (as per mission statement of the forum) to have variants presented of a model so well documented by an insider. Though, I had to find out that "in metal" the watches can make a completely different impression than on p...
Very true
By: MTF : December 10th, 2017-12:12
Our mobile phones and cameras can only reproduce in 2D whatever the preset colour balance. We also have no smell-o-vision so a real life viewing is best. However, many readers live hundreds and thousands of miles from the boutiques so our fora are the nex...

Thank you for the great summary

It is still Moscow or Singapore for me please. Thanks to this valuable overview we can now all keep track. Cheers Kolosstt

I really like to platinum version but in the end I bought the steel. A year on and I am still enjoying it. ...
Another real user report
By: MTF : December 16th, 2017-18:22
DaveG, Thanks for the user feedback. If it's a year, you must have been an early adopter as it was launched end-October 2016. Regards, MTF
Thanks for this great overview, MTF!
By: KMII : December 17th, 2017-02:55
I am generally a fan of the steel editions, the regular one as well as the Moscow one and the Singapore one. If I was to choose I may just go for Moscow. A great world timer for sure!
I changed my mind about the orange one
By: MTF : December 17th, 2017-03:16
KMII At launch, I was drawn immediately to the standard steel version with black and orange dial because it was so striking and legible. So different from the usual colours of the L.U.C collection. Some people reminded us of the original L.U.C Pro One tha...
